NCMC & the Kick start cafe
NCMC stands for North Cornwall Motorbike centre, and it’s a fantastic place for having a look at classic and modern motorbikes as well as grabbing yourself a breakfast bap. Located right next door to it is the Kick Start Cafe, which specialises in Burgers, baps and sandwiches, as well as teas and coffees, which you can buy while you indulge in a bit of motor-spotting.
Here are some things to be aware of when you go to the NCMC/Kick Start Cafe:
- Their staff are friendly, patient and more than happy to be accommodating in any way that they can.
- They are generally not over busy, except on Saturdays, so it’s a great place to go if you want to avoid crowds but would still like to buy a coffee.
- Since they deal in motorbikes it can get quite noisy, especially as there is a garage located next door. However, the owner is more than happy to put any engine revving on hold for people who can not cope with loud noises like that whenever they come to visit.
- There’s both a small step to get into the NCMC and into the Kick Start café but there are temporary ramps that can be put in place to help people in if they need it.
- Unfortunately, since the NCMC is often full of bikes there can be limited room for people with mobility issues but the café is easy to move around in and the furniture can be moved around too.
- There are no specific disabled toilets but there are toilets that can be used in the showroom
- The counter in the café is high but only goes across half of the length of the room so it easy to talk to someone behind the counter from the side.
- There is free Wi fi for customers in the café.
NCMC and the Kick Start café are located on the first right turning of the King’s Hill estate in Bude.
